October 5, 200322 yr Having read all the tips on this forum, updated every last bit of hardware and altering every detail setting setting, my problems with FS 2004 are as bad as ever. I was hoping somebody could help me here.My problems are as follows:- Absoloutly no traffic whatsoever, even with traffic set at 100%.- An error message which comes up whenever I start a flight that reads like this: "Scenery read error. Attempting to open a nonexistant directory. Click OK to continue."- Corrupt water and land textures.- FS2004 exits when it tries to load a flight I have created so I can only use the "select flight" option at the moment.I'm currently running a 32mb Geforce2 GTS and have plent of RAM and processing power. Is the bottom line that I need to buy a new graphics card? Any help is really appreciatedStephen
October 5, 200322 yr Well, reading your post I'd question the install of FS. Looks to me like it failed somewhere. Points about traffic, scenery error, corrupt textures and exiting trying to load a flight suggest that. Some obvious suggestions, don't be upset if they seem too simple.1. Uninstall the complete program.2. Make certain the folder, sub-folders and all their contents are deleted.3. Defrag your hard drive.4. Re-install MAKING SURE YOU HAVE ADMINISTRATOR PRIVELEGES.I doubt very much that an inadequate video card would cause all those errors.bf
October 5, 200322 yr bf,I looked at this post earlier and had the same thoughts you do here but I was reluctant to reply. It kinda sucks to have to tell someone it sounds like they need to reinstall. :(Jim
October 7, 200322 yr Ok defragging done but before I reinstall, how do I know if I have full aministrator access? (in Windows 2k by the way)Also I was wondering if the FS disks themselves could be corrupt in some way, which means they leave out some part of the installation process. Is it possible?thanksstephen
