October 5, 200322 yr Hi Pilots, just a quick dummy question.... In the classic B737 Cockpit, should the Flightdirector be switchable to ON at ground when Avionics are ON? Or is the FD only in the air after takeoff to switch ON??? Regards, Torben Hadler
October 5, 200322 yr I believe I'm correct to say that the Flight Director supplies info to the pilot and not the autopilot. So you should switch it on as part of your start up procedure.bf
October 6, 200322 yr Hi,So than why am I not any more able to switch the FD ON at Ground with Avionics ON and Engine 1 + 2 ON and GEN 1 + 2 ON with the Ariane B737-300 and there Classic Panel???In FS2k2 there is no problem, but the first time in FS2k4 (FS9) I loaded the Ariane B737-300, I was not able to switch it ON. But I had updated the panel from Ariane for FS9!I already send Ariane a E-Mail about that, but they have not yet replied. Regards, Torben Hadler
October 6, 200322 yr Without trying to compare apples with oranges, as far as I recall for the 747-400 the F/D on the ground does not provide accurate vertical cues but is displayed. It is maybe something around 150ft AGL that it becomes accurate, altough while on the ground, it usually displays a pitch ~ the T/O pitch. The 737 is probably different, especially a classic 737.
