Australian compatability testers needed for simply freeware utility

Featured Replies

Hi all,I have just finished the beta testing of a new utility written for people who fly FS2004 in Australia. The utility suggests departure and destination airfields in Australia based upon distance and VFR aeronautical chart criteria entered by the user. My main reason for writing the utility is that my personal preference is to make flights of a certain duration, but I didn't want to figure out all the possible flights I could make manually - there are tens of thousands of them. The other reason is that I use electronic, printable charts, and I wanted the option of my flight only being within the bounds of one chart only, or in a high detailed VTC (or sectional) area. The utility requires Microsoft Excel 2000 or later to run, as well as a minimum of 800 x 600 resolution. I developed the utility on my Windows ME / Excel 2000 machine (it was also beta tested on a Win 2000 / Excel 2000 machine), so I am after a few people to check that it works on other machines. I am especially after people who run Windows XP together with Office XP or Windows XP together with Office 2000, as I imagine my own software is a bit behind the times. This isn't beta testing as such, it is simply a compatability test to make sure it fires up on your machine and does what the instructions say.If anyone is interested (I guess 3 - 4 people are enough), please mail me and let me know your processor speed, OS and version of Excel. The utility is 1.9 megs compressed, so your email would need to be able to accept messages that big. This compatability testing should really only take about ten minutes of your time. Here is a screenshot:
