October 9, 200322 yr Hi:Based on some expert advice given here by an AVSIM forum poster, I was able to lift the Cessna Caravan HSI and put it in the DC-3 panel. Works like a jewel.gauge11=Douglas_DC3!turn_and_bank, 193, 455gauge12=Douglas_DC3!radio_compass, 177, 582gauge13=Douglas_DC3!altimeter, 342, 455gauge14=Douglas_DC3!asi, 341, 581gauge15=Douglas_DC3!ahi, 475, 371gauge16=Douglas_DC3!vsi, 487, 523->gauge17=Cessna208!Horizontal-Indicator, 488, 648, 130<-So I; being the ever thoughtful person that I am, (snicker) figured I'd do the same thing with the ADF. That is, lift the ADF guage from the Cessna Caravan and drop in in place of the DC'3's ADF.It worked, half way. By that I mean, the guage dropped right in place looks good and can be adusted using the little knob -- BUT, it won't indicate the direction of the ADF transmitter. What part of the equation am I missing here? Thanks,DonaldS
October 9, 200322 yr Author DonaldI am the archetypal useless pillock when it comes to gauges but I only flag two things; one, that many of the supposed NDBs don't function properly in FS2004 and therefore recommend you try flying over several in case it is a transmitter rather than gauge issue; two, there is a range missing on the default DC-3 ADF (exact parameters I can't remember offhand) reflecting the genuine instrument of that period. I suppose such a "gap" is probably in the gauge file, not the air/CFG files, but it's just an idea. You may be trying to pick up transmitters that the Dak can't read. But what do I know. Nothing except that otherwise I can't think why you cannot replace one default gauge with another.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg _________________________ Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumont VP Fleet, DC-3 Airways Team Member, MAAM-SIM
