October 12, 200322 yr Hey folks, long time lurker....The last time I picked up Flight Sim was back in the old Bruice Atwick Vs Microsoft days. So after a long absense to the hobby I came back with MS2004 I'm happy with it per-say. But I do have some questions if anyone could be of assistance.I am trying to get my fly areas pretty reasonable on scenery/airports/addons and right now I am working with florida and the carrabian as well as a bit of latin america. So this means I have a lot of scenery packages added on. Does this effect performance if im say flying in seattle. Is the game intelligent enough to not load these into memory Any Must Have Single Engine GA's out there? (tubro's)The Lancair and the Trinidad are nice any others?
October 12, 200322 yr >Does>this effect performance if im say flying in seattle.|n general, no. It might take longer to load FS initially however. From my experience the two kinds of add-ons that have the most detrimental impact on overall performance are general texture upgrades (such as that Airport Environment Upgrade) and AI traffic. Even so they are still worth every bit IMO.>Any Must Have Single Engine GA's out there? (tubro's)>The Lancair and the Trinidad are nice any others?>The Lancair is the only "must have" for me. :)
October 12, 200322 yr Yea that Lancair does indeed rock hard. I'm flying by keyboard at the moment, I cant wait till I get the Sytek Evo and see how it fly's that way.Lets see what Graphics update am I running...Garrish Tree's, Cloud Fix from the Active Sky Guys, The Water Fix (for darker waters is it me or is this now to dark?) and OceanFX and OceanTX some marker light adjustment and I think thats about it.I get about 13-15 flying through seattle, about 30-50 in high altitude flights I guess performance is good enough that I stopped tweaking.
