Problems with FFX DC10's in FS9 Help!!!!

Featured Replies

I am trying to fly the DC10 since a lot of textures and aircraft (SWISSAIR, BA)supposedly ported to FS9 have been downloaded to the AVSIM File library.Problem is, I do not think anything has been done to the model or the aircraft.cfg and the plane (in my case) will not lift up on take off on a runway where B777's and A340's take off every day. What can be tweaked to get this bird off the ground ?On another subject, does anybody know if FFX (E.Cantu et al)have in their plants to upgrade their excellent Planes to FS9.I would appreciate your advise cooperationEdmundo CardenasCaracas, Venezuela ( Now in Decatur Georgia !)
Proud pilot of [link:www.flymeridian.com]Meridian Airline][/b

The DC-10 needs a lot of room to takeoff and must be going fast, I do believe however FFX does plan to upgrade the plane soon.

The DC-10 FDE is very close to real as this is FS (dc-10 capt. tested) also the DC-10 is very very heavy when tryind to fly it with full tanks....this is never done because its almost impossible to get it off the ground and thats when its is standard, imagine it with a little heat in the air.....even harder. As for an update to the DC-10 it is slotted to be released early next year. Its a really busy time for us right now.

Thank for your answer and I am looking forward to the complete fixes for FS9.However , I know about the heaviness of the DC10. What surprises me is that I have tried to take off with 40% of fuel and very litle passenger load, and still it will hardly take off (and then crah) on an 11000 feet rwy at sea level..Edmundo CardenasPLEASE BUMP

This is what I have done to make the plane flyable in FS9:I've changed the aircraft.cfg and lowered all station weights by 30%.Also, make sure that before takeoff, you trim the aircraft to 14 (degrees or percent, i'm not sure). This helps a lot. I've landed an taken of from TNCM (st maarten, juliana airport) which has only a 7500 foot runway with 40% fuel. We'll have to wait for a real fs9 flight model, but these settings will work until that is available.
