October 15, 200322 yr Hi, I'm not too much of a PC boffin and most of the stuff in the forums seems like Greek to me.My problem is that with some commercial aircraft like the Flight 1 C310, everything goes reasonably well until I get to my destination airport. Then everything starts to stutter, I can't dare to take any other view than straight ahead cause when my forward view eventually return, I'm already on the runway. Seems like my system can't handle it.When flying online everything is fine as long as I don't get another aircraft in my view - then the same happens as above.I use XP Home adition with 320MB RAM, GForce 4 64MB card,FS2002 with MS FFeedback 2 and CH pro pedals.Anybody with any help or advice?
October 15, 200322 yr You don't mention what speed your CPU is but I can start off with.......MORE RAM :) 256 is the bare minimum when running any version of XP. Now throw FS into the mix and your looking at a bigger load. Add in a 64 meg vid card such as yours and your looking at a load the machine probably can't handle. You have 2 roads to take: The cheap and the more exspensive.Cheap road....Back down the sliders in the sim, disable any uneeded services and apps while in FS and/or lower your resolution.Exspensive route: bring your machine up to 512 Megs Ram and upgrade your VC to something like a 9600/5600Ultra. Although not a real exspensive alternative it will run you some cash. Not knowing what type of CPU/Memory setup you currently run won't allow me to make any more detailed opinions than I have. Give us some more detailed system specs and we can help ya a lot more.Bobby
October 15, 200322 yr Whoa!I know, that's sooo depressing!I've got the same problem with the Phoenix A 32X. It's simply stalls (IT MUSN'T STALL!!!) on approach or landing and sometimes, when Ichange to the outside view, I see nothing but the wing from the passenger's view (!) and then after a second the plane just drops from the sky with the nose down and an incredible speed. Does your plane stall and drop, or does it only stall or only drop?
October 15, 200322 yr Hey I just remembered. I think my stalls were because of different standards cuz the plane used lbs but the FS used gallons!! Is this possible in ur case? Hope ur problem's solved fast...
October 16, 200322 yr Sorry about the incomplete system iformation. I'll try again:According to "Properties" on "My Computer" I gathered the following information:Intell Pentium 3, 705MHz, 192MB of RAMDriver - ST320410ACard - NVIDIA GeForce 4 Mx440Screen - LG Studioworks 21"Available Physical memory - 80,98MBAvailble Virtual memory - 404,09MBThanks for your reply, I hope this is more thorough.Ns: Do I just ask for a 9600/5600Ultra at the PC shop or is there a specific make?Lodewyk

I'll try>again:>According to "Properties" on "My Computer" I gathered the>following information:>Intell Pentium 3, 705MHz, 192MB of RAMAlthough the 700Mhz will hamper your performance it will not make it impossible to run FS9 at some decent slider settings if setup correctly. Your number one problem besides the VC is the amount of ram your running. 192 megs will just not cut it. Like I said before a minimum of 256 is realistically needed to run XP with all of its bells and whistles. My honest opinion...512 megs of memory needed.>Driver - ST320410ACouldn't tell ya what thats for?? Driver for what?>Card - NVIDIA GeForce 4 Mx440Your second biggest problem :(. I hate to put anyones setup down but the card is being dragged around by it's neck trying to run FS with any sort of fluidity. My suggestion, a Radeon 9600 128 or 256 Meg>Screen - LG Studioworks 21">Available Physical memory - 80,98MBThis show's exactly what your problem is. 80 megs of available memory. Windows 98 needs more than that just to run. This is the main cause of your stuttering and lack of performance within the sim.>Availble Virtual memory - 404,09MBReally doesn't help as this is HD space used as memory. also known as a paging file or swap file.>Thanks for your reply, I hope this is more thorough. No need to thank. here to help>Ns: Do I just ask for a 9600/5600Ultra at the PC shop or is>there a specific make? Here's a suggetsion for you. For a minimal outlay of money you could significantly improve your flight sim experience.512 Megs of Corsair Select PC133 memory $83.25Radeon 9600Pro 128 Meg Video Card $173.00Both of these are avilable, at these prices from WWW.Newegg.ComI'm pretty sure the difference in FS will more than amaze you for such a minimal investment.Hope this helps :)Bobby
