Hi All,I have a question I was wondering if anyone can answer. I have installed Ben Henke's das8md83flyable.zip to make the MD-83 flyable and am using FIDG's very nice MD-83 panel with it. I have a problem where the landing gear won't extend until I bring the speed down to 120 kts. Seems the landing gear should be able to come down earlier than that as you pretty much stall at that low of airspeed. I took a look at the aircraft.cfg file but it it does not appear to contain a setting for the landing gear speed. Any ideas?Also, tuning VOR1 works fine but tuning VOR2 does nothing in/on the RMI gauge. There is no RADIO section in the aircraft.cfg file. Do you think I can just add the following section to make tuning the VOR2 work?{Radios}Audio.1=1Com.1=1,0Com.2=1,0Nav.1=1,0,1Nav.2=1,0,0Adf.1=1Transponder.1=1Marker.1=1Thanks,Jim

Well, I added the RADIO section and now the VOR2 is alive when tuned. Still wondering about the landing gear lowering speed limit though. :-hmmmJim

Ok. After studying several Aircraft.cfg files for a little while, I was able to figure out the fields and variables I needed to edit. I set it so I can lower my landing gear at 240 kts now. :)Cheers,Jim

Jim, I had the same troubles. It was frustrating when I tried to land and the landing gear wouldn't extend. Another issue I have run into is that I can not get the autopilot to track the altitude correctly, especially on approach. For some reason it keeps sinking below the set altitude and glide scope until it eventually crashes.Have you run into this? Does anyone know of an md_83 air file for fs2k4 out there?Thanks,Scott

Hi Scott,Sorry, I am not having any problem with the autopilot. Maybe someone else would know how to solve that. Did you get the problem solved with the landging gear speed? If not, I would be willing to show you what to edit. As for an MD-83, you might try the FFX/SGA MD-80 and MD-83 I got at www.fsnordic.net which is also where I got their fabulous MD-83 panel, which will soon have a Version 2 release and can be seen here...http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...&topic_id=93715Also, I'm fairly certain the FFX/SGA models don't have the landing gear speed problem in the Aircraft.cfg file. ;) They come with thier own .air files and so you might find them more to your liking i that respect too.Filenames:fidgmd83panelv1.zipflyfimd83.zipmd80finnairoc.zipCheers,Jim
