October 23, 200322 yr Greetings everyone!Even before I got into VA's and VATSIM, a group of buddies and I flew "Props" almost every night in our own multi-player session. These sessions, quickly turned into an organized "Around the World" series of flights and eventually I had my own "Around the World" web site, which served as our home base and information resource. We had a blast flying low and slow and made it around completely seven (7) times before I got involved with VA's.When I was a hub manager at AvA, I hosted a weekly Prop flight on Saturdays and we modeled a trip two real-world pilots made flying from DC to Barrow, AK. As soon as we made it to Barrow, AK, myself and two others started Virtual Continental Airlines, and once again, the Prop flights ended temporarily. With all that said, I'd like to announce the "reincarnation of these trips with a twist. Sure we last left off in Barrow, AK with the intention of returning to DC. We most likely still will return to DC but it will only be a short stopping point before we continue on "Around the World."What's the twist you might ask? Well, for our first trip around the world, we are ONLY FLYING THE DC-3! That's right! We will depart Barrow, AK in the DC-3 and head down through Alaska, into the lower 48, then East until we end up back in Barrow, AK and we'll do it all in the DC-3 using FS2002 or 2004.Instead of completing these legs only one day/week, we will do it twice per week to try and make the trip shorter than 1/2 year We will fly one weeknight and one weekend night. Specific Days and times will be up to those that join and you are always welcome to complete any legs at another time if you couldn't make that particular nights flight with the rest of us (will not count for as many points however).Sound interesting to you? If so, go to http://vfrflyers.com to sign up now!IMPORTANT! Most of these flights will be completed on the VATSIM Network.I anticipate the first legs to begin this Saturday Evening (October 25th around 24:00 Zulu). That time again depends on how many and who registers. I will ask you what times work best for you when I receive your registration.OK, now off to work on instituting the Forum for these trips ;-) Thank you!Lance Williamshttp://vcair.com (Virtual Continental Airlines)http://vfrflyers.com (Props Around the World Trips)
