November 29, 201015 yr I want to use four monitors with a 5970 amd ati eyefinity 6, 4 gig card. I also want to connect the VR Insight pro pit to make it five monitors, I have been searching the net, info on the 5970 is there but very sketchy. I saw a youtube video, sadly in Italian, there appeared to be three monitors for the surround cockpit and one smaller monitor below the others to display the instruments. If anyone has any thoughts or directions, I would appreciate it.
November 29, 201015 yr You'll need a couple more computers, identical software on each, and a copy of WidevieW for all of your outside views. The server software runs on the main FS computer that the simulator is flown from, and the client software runs on all the rest.

Have you tried and it doesn't work? With that card it shouldn't be any harder than to configure a new display group with the number of monitors and layout you want to use. You can then use additional monitors for instruments as long as you have ports to spare.By the way, since you have modern hardware, you really, really, *really* don't want to go down the wideview lane. And no, you don't need more computers. Simply stay away from wideview.
November 30, 201015 yr And why is that? Have you had problems in the past or just didn't need it without a full cockpit?
November 30, 201015 yr Since the original poster already has the hardware to run up to six monitors for the outside view, and the question was about Eyefinity, the response "You'll need a couple more computers, identical software on each, and a copy of WidevieW for all of your outside views" is pretty misleading.I could go on forever about why eyefinity and nvidia surround mode is superior to wideview in pretty much every aspect but that would be another thread.
November 30, 201015 yr I see. Thank you for the information. What he has is apparently not a run-of-the mill video card.
