October 22, 200322 yr I'm thinking of upgrading my video card from a GeForce2 MX, 64MB SDram to a FX5200 w/ 128MB DDR, AGP(or something similar in that price range). I have noticed that there is a wide range of manufacturers and equally wide range of prices. Can anyone advise me as to your experience with the FX5200 or FX5600 cards with FS9 and why I should pay attention to who makes it, price, etc.? Thanks. GLBatRIC
October 22, 200322 yr Author I have a Compaq 6010US (AMD Athlon XP 1600/1.4Ghz) with an on board GeForce 2 graphics using 32MB of system memory. I found a MadDog Conquerer FX 5200 Ultra with 128MB at CompUSA for $99. I inserted the card in the AGP slot, started the computer, loaded the driver from the CD and it ran like a charm. The system even took back the 32MB of shared video memory that the onboard system was using.I have been cautious about upping the complexity in FS9 but the video has been very smooth and looks great.Works well in my system, don't know how it may work in yours.
