October 22, 200322 yr I was trying to re-insatll an older version driver. I used driver cleaner. After I installed..any driver...during the installation process it looks as if "all" is being installed properly..and I usually reboot right away so the setting take place ..but after re-boot..no new settings are there..I am at the VGA..no drivers can be found at the properties box. I tried every driver I had on file and I even dnld from mVidia ..just in case. Now all I am limited to is the 32bit settind and 800X mode are my only options. When I check out my 'driver' properties at the nVidia card ..there are NO DRIVERS??Any help app!MB
October 23, 200322 yr Assuming Windows XP here.Delete the Display Adapter device in the Device Manager, found by right clicking on My Computer, going to Properties, then hitting the Hardware tab, then the Device Manager button.Reboot. While rebooting, put the CD that came with the Video card in or, if you don't have that, put the WinXP CD in. It will find the device and a popup will appear asking if you want to search for the drivers. Say YES, it will automatically search the CD and find them. Now you can put your new drivers in right on top of those. If all else fails, go to Start/All Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore and restore your Windows to an earlier date.
