December 13, 201015 yr Hello,as i´m also looking forward to the release i was wondering whether you could add windshield rain effects. Normally they are disabled in FSX but if i use a FS9-modeled aircraft in FSX and add the line "windshield_rain_effect_available=1" in the aircraft.cfg, rain effects in the VC are visible. It´s just a suggestion or maybe a wish of mine ;) .Greetings from Germany,Robert
December 13, 201015 yr Hi Robert (Svapo3),I would think that it would be included because they have rain effects on the windshield of the JS4100. The wipers also worked for clearing the rain from the windshield too. They also had icing/frost effects. if you didn't have your anti-ice turned on when you had freezing rain. Your windshield would be covered with a thick layer of ice. This made for a nice realism effect. I would imagine that the NGX will have this included into it's huge list of its awesome features.Looking forward to it's release. Going to be sweet... December 14, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the quick answer ! That sounds nice, i think i´ll have to give the Jetstream a try ;) I think it´s really annoying that they (Microsoft) left the rain effects in FSX, it destroys the whole atmosphere...Greetings,Robert
December 15, 201015 yr The Jetstream is an awesome plane to fly. It takes a bit to get use to because the engines don't behave the same as many others do. But once you get used to the plane and it's startup sequence, it's a plane that will have you spending many hours flying to smaller airports in cold climates to use the deicing system. And also be ready for the WOW factor when it comes to the virtual cockpit. Almost everything in that plane is clickable... Very amazing...I hear ya about the rain effects. MS forgot many little features when they did FSX. But it could of been added if ACE Studios was still employed and applied those things in a patch. But I guess we'll never know. ----------------------------- Steven Bond
