Unexpected langing gear deployment

Featured Replies

In many of my aircraft I have a strange problem. While in normalflight mode (no keys or buttons pressed), even in autopilotmode (not touching the keyboard) my lang gear will deployfor no seemingly good reason. I will cycle it back up and a few minuteslater it will deploy again. Also SOMETIMES along with the gear cycling the kneeboard set of instructions will pop up.Is there some setting I have turned on I dont realize that wouldcause this. It sure is annoying! Thanks,David Freedman

David: It sounds like you have had one too many pizzas at your computer workstation! I would check for a small piece of pepperoni under the G key and a mushroom underneath F10. Those keys are probably sticking.Sorry, probably not too much help!sjKEWR

David, I had this problem some time ago when I was using a MS Sidewinder joystick, for some reason the joystick would send the signal every once in awhile like I pushed the button. I remapped the gear to another button and left the bad one with no commands and problem solved, although it was not too cool losing a button on my joystick. My problem was completely solved when I purchased a new joystick though, an expensive fix! Hope this helps a bit.Good luck, Philip

FIXED!! I too have and am using the MS Sidewinder joystick.Deleting the GEAR assignment on the joystick has solved theproblem. Never used that key on the joystick at all.THANKS.David Freedman
