Need help with panels!

Featured Replies

So far I haven't had any problems downloading/installing/flying any planes in FS2004. Tonight I downloaded two excellent aircraft (Milton Shupes AC680, and an Antonov AN-24). Both aircraft contained a seperate guages folder, the contents of which were supposed to be dumped into the guages folder of FS9. Both of these guage folders had guage files as well as 1 CAB file apeice. After installing these files, whenever I fly ONLY these two planes, the stuuters are almost unbearable to fly with. Other than these 2 planes, my flying experience is smooth and a joy. Have I done something wrong in installation? Do you place CAB files into the guages folder (like I did)? Anyone have any other clues or ideas/suggestions? Any help would be appreciated as these are both EXCELLENT aircraft other than this problem. Thanks.

bump

Bump already? Got the wheels down?FS9 can read your gauges whether they are in the main GAUGES folder or in the aircraft's specific PANEL folder (which, I might add, is starting to produce a lot of duplication in my add-ons, but that's another issue). Bottom line is that shouldn't be your problem, I think.Have you tried releasing the parking brake? No, seriously, can't help further other than highlighting that matter which was not, of course, the case in FS2002.Mark "Dark Moment" Beaumonthttp://www.swiremariners.com/newlogo.jpg

Okay, here's where I stand now. I deleted all the guages and the aircraft. On a "different" site, the milton shupe aircraft I downloaded was listed as a FS2004 aircraft. I looked here on avsim and saw that there was a listing for the same aircraft, one as an FS2002 original and one as an FS2004 original. I downloaded the FS2004 original, installed it, and now everything on the Milton Shupe aircraft seems to be fine. Funny thing though is that it included all of the same guages as the "FS2002 original" aircraft did. Is there anything here that I am misinterpreting?

Well, without knowing exactly what was changed, one can only speculate. There may have simply been a change(s) in the panel.cfg file and/or aircraft.cfg file. Or maybe some re-texturing was done that caused a problem in FS2004. But, it may have also been something with gauge(s). Those gauges are programmed in the C programming language. So, gauge(s) might have had some code changed in them that was causing a problem with FS2004.Regards,Jim

Just want to clarify,In other words, just because the filenames of the gauges were the same doesn't neccesarily mean there wasn't some chnages done to one or more of them. ;)Jim

Okay, that makes sense. Thanks Jim. Now if I can just find a replacement for this an-26 I've got it made. :-)
