Hi fellars,I'm getting reacquainted with AS 6.5 and everything is mostly OK, but I am quite confused about some things, namely how the settings in FSUIPC interact with AS and vice-versa. I tried finding answers in the AS forums and elsewhere but I could not find anything specific to my questions, so I'll ask here.I attached my settings for AS and FSUIPC. (Please note that my version of FSUIPC is newer than the one depicted here, but the settings are the same.)OK, here are my questions:AS6.5 -* Suppression Ceiling: Is this value above the ground or above sea level?* Suppression Range: The default value is 100 but I set it to 25 because most of my flying is in the Caribbean doing relatively short hops. 100 seems like a lot.a. Is 25 OK?b. What would be a good value that could be successfully used in most parts of the world (a compromise value)?* Max Thickness: I increased the number from 10000 to 20000 because I have a fairly powerful computer (CPU: i5 2.53 GHz; RAM: 4GB; GPU: 2GB).a. Can I increase this further, say, 25000-30000?b. Would it improve the look of the clouds?c. Would it be realistic?FSUIPC -* Winds Tab: I always have "Smooth wind changes near aircraft" set to 5. Given my AS settings, AS will use this and keep it at 5 (according to the documentation).a. However, will AS do nothing (i.e. not use it at all) if it is already turned on? In other words, should I turn it off and let AS deal with it?b. Can I change the value without AS going crazy?* Visibility Tab:a. I always have "Smooth visibility changes" set to 10% every 2 seconds. Given my AS settings, AS will use this and adjust the value as needed (according to the documentation). However, will AS do nothing (i.e. not use it at all) if it is already turned on? In other words, should I turn it off and let AS deal with it?b. Is it OK to keep "Random extend METAR maxima" checked?c. I always keep "Set graduated visibility" off and grey. Given my AS settings, AS will take over this FSUIPC function and adjust the settings as needed. Is that interpretation correct?* Clouds Tab:a. Is it OK to keep "Add light cirrus layer occasionally" checked? Is it realistic?b. Is it OK to keep "Add random turbulence in cloud" checked? Is it realistic?* Technical (a.k.a. Miscellaneous) Tab: Very Important!Do I need to tick (turn ON) "Allow changes to FS own weather"? I ask because with FSMetar that step was vital!I think that's it, guys. Please get back to me with answers to these questions ASAP. I haven't been able to fly in months and I'm dying to resume my hobby!!
