Custom stars in version 6

I appreciate the new ability of Voxatc to assign stars from a data base, but I am finding it isn't such a good solution for some airports. ATC is vectoring me off the star for approach too early in some cases, often right into mountains. So for these airports (CYVR for example) I think I will have to go back to putting the specific star appropiate for the active runway, which I have check in advance with whatever weather I am using, into my flightplan and using the Voxatc star editor. I seem to recall that this way I can specify the waypoint at which vectoring will begin.Does anyone know if we still have to go the through the process of pre-loading some other flight and then switching to the desired flight from the in-game menu in order to have the star recognized? Or has that been fixed in the new verision?

There is no need to use the SID/STAR editor anymore, now VoxATC use the Level-D AIRAC as you ofcourse know.If you are approaching an airport surrounded by high terrain, then I suggest requesting ATC for a Full ILS Approach if it is available.Vectoring in terrain like that does not always end well, so you have to take control yourself.

Thanks for the reply. I have started doing what you suggest -- I just ask for the complete procedure when ATC starts vectoring me. I just wasn't able to get star recognized using the editor with version 6 and my new Windows 7 setup, and it would probably be futile anyway as I suspect I still would be sent off somewhere I shouldn't go.
