January 29, 201115 yr Hello folks,I've been happily using the MD11 in both fs9 and fsX generating flight plans with FSC 8.6 from day one (quite a few months now). All of a sudden when I enter a plan name (even ones that worked before yesterday when this problem started and INCLUDING the first tutorial!) I get "UNABLE TO LOAD FPLAN" in the MCDU's bottom which I clear and re-check my plan to be correct in name. After several tries with some 10 or so plans (this is where I again tried the first tutorial flight), I shut my computer down last night in frustration and tried again just this morning and it's still doing it with every saved plan I have in the PMDG flight plans folder. I don't know if it will accept manual loading, but I don't want to take all that time when I aleady have perfectly good plans including those done using FSComander. My AIRAC database is always up to date in both PMDG and FSC (in both fs9 and fsX). Anybody have any ideas what the problem may be? PS - the plans are in the correct format - IE "KBOSLSZH001" (without the qoutes of course). I wonder if it's possible there is a maximum number of plans allowed in the PMDG Flight Plans folder (I have heaps)? Thanks,Bill A
January 29, 201115 yr Edit and elaboration: I just tried all the same PMDG plans in the 744 for fs9 and fsX and they cause no problems at all, so this is isolated to the MD11. Regards,Bill
January 30, 201115 yr Just to exclude some factors...try to create a manual FP identical to one of the FSCommander's FP you have in your folder, save it using the MCDU option in REF page and try to reload the new FP using the CO ROUTE entry...In the case it works, the problem is related with FSC, if it doesn't work it is a problem with PMDG MD11...Then, report here, i now will think about some solutions...Cheers, Paolo Fumagalli "Everyday is a new flight, with new system to learn, new failures to prevent and new database to update..."
February 1, 201115 yr OK, got this sorted - and thanks Paolo. I first manually entered a plan (KBOS-LSZH) and it took it all. Saved same as KBOSLSZH002.rte, and it still works, unlike KBOSLSZH001.rte which won't load except in the 744. So I simply deleted every plan in the PMDG flightplans folder except the official tutorial (which is now loading ok strangely enough). I had well over 200 plans in there, but as NAT tracks, etc change, I could care less about keeping them. I just created another plan (KJFKLFPG001)using FSCommander and it works fine too. I wonder if there ought to be separate folders for the 737/744/MD11 rather than keep them all in one folder. I wish there were a way to tell the PMDG FMC where to fetch its plan from and make my own separate folders for each PMDG aircraft I have. Oh well, I will keep an eye on what I create and what I fly it in. Glad to be flying the MD11 again regardless. She's a beautiful bird.Regards and thanks,Bill A.
February 1, 201115 yr Just a quick afterthought here: Seeing that some plans I had were getting old. Compound this by updating the AIRAC database every month; waypoints, fixes, and tracks do change, so the MCDU tries to read an old plan with a new AIRAC database there only needs to be one single mis-match and voila - it is unable to load an older Company Route. If I'm correct here (I'm pretty sure this be the case - please correct me if I'm not), this aircraft's systems are simulated extremely close to the R/W MD11. Blue skies to all,Bill A.

Blue skies to all,Bill A.Exactly, the real world FP changes very often, so if you update the Database Airac...maybe some of your FPs cannot be loaded or they're loaded non completely, with some direct to waypoints to bypass the old airways...Cheers, Paolo Fumagalli "Everyday is a new flight, with new system to learn, new failures to prevent and new database to update..."
