Problem with Lonny Payne's POSky 757 panel update

Featured Replies

I just downloaded and installed Lonny Payne's POSky 757 panel update which includes his gauges in the VC, but some of the gauges are turning out to have a greyish background. This ONLY happens in the VC. In the 2D panel, all the gauges show up perfectly fine as always:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/47545.jpgAnyone have any ideas?Regards

Hi,What aircraft are you using? I actually had one report of this and the gauges that have the white background are actually transparent. What you are seeing is actually the background of the VC model. I do not have this problem and I am wondering if a couple of the models that are out there have a VC problem. When I take all my gauges out of the VC, all the gauge "holes" are black. I assume if you did the same, they would all be white. Hopefully we will figure it out. I did all the testing with the New Northwest aircraft. You might be able to get this model and then change the textures to the aircraft you want. Its worth a try but it may be related to something else.Lonny

Lonny,I'm using the POSky 757VC British Airways Nalanji Dreaming.Regards

Hey Lonny,I just downloaded the Northwest new colors POSky 757 and I am having the exact same problem as I did with the British Airways. White/greyish background behind some of the gauges. It's strange that you are not having this problem with your Northwest....Regards

yea same problem here i am using the new northwest ati card here?

Hello Lonny,I just want to say that when I installed the update that you e-mailed me I made sure to use the same plane that was listed in the 'Aircraft.cfg' file that was in it, The Northwest NC. What I did was copy all the bmp's from my current panel folder for the POSKY 757 into the Northwest NC's panel folder. Then installed your updates, including the panel.cfg file, into the Northwest NC. ALL THE REST of my POSKY's planes are 'aliased' in their panel.cfg's to one plane where I have your original panel, with updates PRIOR to this one, installed, with the 'VCockpit' sections copied and pasted into it personally by me. I do not have this bleed through problem in the virtual cockpit with these other planes. So, I decided to have a look at the differences in the 'VCockpit' section between your new file and the one that has them copied in by me.Your new you believe you can probably see, your new panel.cfg file, other than the VCockpit3 and 4 sections, references a lot of your own gauges, whereas the my older file has all default MS gauges being referenced for use in the Virtual Cockpit. I am not positive, but I beleive this to be the root of the problem you have seen here and in the screenshot I sent you.Regards,Jimmy Richards

Well, dopey me, I see from the file description on Avsim that you are wanting to include your gauges on in the POSKY VC so I am sure you are already well are aware of the above! :-doh Still, I hope that me and the other fella here reporting that we are indeed using the 757-200 Northwest NC model will have you investigating. As you said hopefully the cause of the problem will surface, perhaps when some other people chime in with their findings here.Cheerio,Jim

If all else fails I can make a static black gauge to put behind all the other gauges in the VC and that will solve the problem, I was hoping to find the cause since it does not happen with all people. One way or another I will fix it.Lonny

I still am not sure why some people are having this problem but I have a fix your you guys. Open your panel.cfg and go to the VC panel sections. The first line in each section is:Background_color=0,0,0Change it to:Background_color=8,8,8This should fix it.Think the only ones you need to change are 1, 2, 3, 5.You can probably change all of them.I wish I could figure out why some people have this problem, but this should fix it. Let me know.Lonny

Lonny, you're a genius. It worked!Thank you so much for your hardwork in creating this masterpiece and sharing it with the FS community! And thank you POSky for creating the best 757 the FS community has ever seen!Regards
