November 21, 200322 yr Hello All,Imagine this: Heavy rain and thunderstorms, nasty day. The Delta 737 before you just landed, was given clearance and such:"Meridian tower, UPS 245 request full stop landing ILS . . .""UPS 245, airport is IFR, request denied . . ."about that time you wish you could type in your own response to FS9, such as . . ."Ahh, Roger that, what do you think we're flying on right about now, you idiot . . . how bout you give us clearance to land or we'll just peel the roof off your tower . . .what you say to that hotshot?"(in real life I've heard just about as rash statements from irate pilots).Oh, wouldn't it be nice...LOL. I can't imagine being refused to land after a Delta 737 just came in and cleared the runway . . .In real life I've been told the airport was closed due to weather, divert to alternate, go to hold, and such, but never refused because the conditions were IFR . . . only with microsoft!Best to all,Clay
November 21, 200322 yr Well, it could be that the flight plan they have on file is VFR. Normally you wouldn't ask for FULL STOP if your flight plan is IFR (at least I don't think you would ask for it).
