ATC Simulator

Some of you may be interested in this:http://www.dooley.co.za/WX360%20ATC.htmThis runs off 25 instances of FS2004, 19 computers in the main consol & another 6 in the control / instructors station. It is a CAA certified simulator based at 43 Air School in Port Alfred, South Africa. I've been somewhat involved with this project for a number of years & had the privelage of going to Port Alfred to install it, with my son & the rest of the team, prior to certificationWhat is particularly interesting is that the simulated tower has a full 360 degree view - a huge achievement in FS! More info on the website.

For anyone who may be interested, there are some updates on this project. Have a look :http://www.dooley.co.za/WX360%20ATC.htm

Wow, truly interesting. What i like the most is the fact that ATC students also work as pilots, thus learning the "other side" of their jobs. Probably it would be a good idea to take the pilots and see how ATC works from the inside.

Zvonimir - good observation. When they did the certification they used ATC students & Student pilots for the pilot stations & had qualified ATC's in the "tower". So yes, it can be used both ways & some of the ATC students said that it gave them a better understanding of the "other side" of their jobs.I want to upload some video of thm in action because just from the pictures you cannot really appreciate what's been achieved here. When you sit in the tower, you really do have a 360 degree view of the airport & all the runways line up, monitor to monitor, exactly. Hopefully I can do that soon
