November 25, 200322 yr Can anyone tell me what the following letters on the throttle console mean?APRTOMCTMCRAlso reading the checklist it states to push the trottles to TO when taking off which is what I figured what TO meant so is that to say you dont push the throttles all the way to APR during intial take off roll?NP
November 25, 200322 yr The only thing I've read using the checklist is...CAUTION: Maximum thrust lever setting is MCR with full anti-ice on between 15,500 and 30,000 feet.Still dont know what it means nor the meaning or use of the others.NP
November 25, 200322 yr Well I called up and spoke with a Lear pilot and got this information from him. I took notes and as always in aviation this is general and not in stone. What I mean is if I misword what the pilot told me its my bad and not the pilots.MCR is Maximum Cruise ThrustMCT is Maximum Continuous ThrustTO is Take OffAPR is Automatic Power ReserveMCR is the power setting you would use during cruise flight not to be exceeded.MCT is Maximum Continuous Thrust that you could use during climb.TO Take Off is the setting you would use during take off and should not be left there more than 5 mins at which time you would reduce it to MCT.APR is a power setting that would be used if there
November 25, 200322 yr Thanks for the information. I too have always wondered what the settings were.Terry
November 25, 200322 yr As a slight correction MCR can be exceeded during cruise flight as to where I stated earlier that it is to not be exceeded however only to MCT and since you will more than likely overspeed going higher than MCR it would be wise to use MCR as a max setting in cruise and expect to fly that or less power to avoid overspeed. Also i tried a flight using the default checklist which states not to exceed MCR while climbing thru 15500 to FL30 is deice boots are used. I couldn't even climb at that power setting so not sure how that is suppose to work.NP
