April 12, 201115 yr Hi everyone! I was wondering whether to create a new topic about low fps in fs9. I've read a lot of topics on the internet like this one. However, I can't get right solution. First of all, my computer is (not hi-end but good enough I think to FS):ToshibaAMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core QL-65 @ 2,1Ghz4 GB ramATI HD 4500VistaSoftware:REXGE ProASv6.5PMDG 737UTX europeI know that my machine can handle with FS9, because sometimes (just few seconds of playing!) I have 50+ fps with all settings max (but play with target fps 30). However, but average FPS is about 10. Let's describe standard situation: I'm on the ground for 10 minutes so everything is certainly loaded, offline, in virtual cockpit and I have 30 fps. I can rotate camera etc. Suddenly, with no reason, I've got 7 fps. The same situation is en route. I understand low FPS on the airports like heathrow with overcast and rain. But on flight level there are no buildings and no a lot of textures to load. What is strange, there is no change with FPS on minimum settings! It NOT depends on plane (it can be cessna or PMDG)AA in flight sim settings is off, T&L on. In catalyst control center everything is off. CPU in task manager is used only by FS. My last chance is post here :) Then I'll do format and install every single addon carefully. Help please, it's a slideshow :)Regards
April 12, 201115 yr Hi,With all those add-ons you are going to need to move your sliders to the left in order to gain FPS. No, your little netbook/laptop is not powerful enough for all that FS software. Or you can try lower res textures from REX. It is the graphics card that is not powerful enough.
April 12, 201115 yr Author I see your point, but it starts suddenly, I did nothing. It was 20 - 25 fps, now 5 (!) - 15, and I mean it changes in static situation. I'll try sth with rex, because sliding left doesnt work.
