April 29, 201115 yr Have a question on the texture size in ASv6.5. When I look in C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Modules\ASGraphics\Textures\Clouds\Solid Cumulus the only textures I see there are all 512x512. In asg I have 128x128 dxt3 options checked. Are the 128x128 getting loaded or are the 512 getting loaded? Since I don't see any 128x128 clouds in the above folder just wanted to make sure. ThanksBrad
April 29, 201115 yr Hi,Have you sumitted the textures from AS to FS?Also, watch the cumulus1 texture in your FS.The largest problem is that you have FS installed into your Program Files folder and Windows REALLY protects that folder. It may not even be possible to change those textures without adjusting the security settings in Win 7/Vista and we don't suggest doing that. We suggest a re-install of FS OUTSIDE of the Program Files folder.

Then when you select your choices it takes your choices from the module folder and installs those to the textute folder in FS. Is this correct? What I was asking is in the module folder under clouds/cumulus there are only 512 size texture files. Shouldn't there be 128,256,512 ect so that depending on my choices that I've selected in ASG options it can load the correct texture to FS? Thanks
April 29, 201115 yr Hi,I understood what you said! It isn't important where AS is installed, it is important where FS is installed and right now your Windows 7 security system could be stopping AS from installing textures into your FS. Also, to see what textures FS is going to use you look in the Texture folder in FS, not any folder in AS. Lastly, as a way for me to double check, please wait a few hours and I'll be at home and I'll be able to compare what you are seeing against my AS installation. It could be too that AS does the conversions to the textures before it sends them to FS. That is why you need to check from within FS!

April 29, 201115 yr Hi,No need to open it in Paint. Just right click and go to Properties and check the Properties/Summary tab.
April 29, 201115 yr Author Hi,No need to open it in Paint. Just right click and go to Properties and check the Properties/Summary tab.Ok, Just did a little test and it is changing the texture size when it renders. If you use dx3 it dosn't show up as say 256x256 or 128x128 but if you don't it does. Question ansewered. Thanks for the help
