Strange Results with DXT3 Clouds

Featured Replies

Since I got FS9 and this computer (Hp Laptop, 2.3 duel core,3 gig DDR3, Radeon 4250. win7 64) I have not been able to run real weather. Even medieum cloud coverage would send fps to single didgits. I've always had 128 DXT3 clouds checked in ASG. Today just messing around I unchecked DXT3 and used 128x128 normal. Just flew in heavy overcast and while at some points in the clouds my frames would drop a little but nothing like before to where I couldn't fly. I thought just the oposite was suppose to be true. Very confused. Anyone else seen this. ThanksBrad

Hi,Today's video drivers/cards work differently than before and what works for one doesn't for the other. And now you can un-check Render to Texture in FS and you might even gain a few more FPS.
