May 15, 201115 yr HiSystem:FSX PC windows 7 ultimate, activesky evolution build 642 on a networked windows vista PC. FSPUIC full registered version WIDEFS running on network, SIOC(opencockpits) connected overnetwork to Lekseecon. AES remote also connected over network.Problem:Running FSX and Activesky, all works fine, weather being injected into FSX, see the green bar in fsx telling me that weather being updated etc. Then for no reason after a random period of time, or can be triggered sometimes by pausing FSX or a reload within FSX etc. ASE stops updating the weather, no error messages, ASE on Network PC is showing current weather etc, but it is no longer being injected into FSX, If I select the refresh AI button is ASE which would normally cause a mini reload of FSX it doesnt do anything. If I close FSX and ASE, and load both again, the problen then remains no update will occurr - only noticeable difference is when ASE boots in the log you dont see the connected to FSX message as part of the boot. The only way to get it all working again is to actually reboot the FSX PC, just closing FS and reloading the issues remains. After a full reboot of both PCS then starting ASE and FSX again all will be working again fine until this random drop occurrs.Reading some of the other posts on forum where people are complaning about weather not being correct at airports etc, could it be because maybe they are suffering the same issue, but dont realise that ASE is no longer updating FSX weather even though ASE appears to be working - obvioulsy a fix for why this occurs be good, but also perhaps ASE could have a feature that better indicates it isnt communicatig with FSX any more. What I really cant understand is why a complete reboot is needed not just starting FSX/ASE again. I have no virus software running as PCs are own boots for FS and not used for other PC use. My Router is configured to reserve the IP for all connected PCs and when ASE stops I have no other network issues, I can still browse files etc across network PCS, My opencockpits software that is running on network connected to Lekseecon and also WIDEFS all remain perfectly connected.Ideas?RegardsJames Regards James Carr
May 15, 201115 yr Hi,What are you using for your Anti-virus and is it set to scan incoming data? How are determining that ASE has stopped communicating with FS?
May 16, 201115 yr Author Hi,What are you using for your Anti-virus and is it set to scan incoming data? How are determining that ASE has stopped communicating with FS?Sorry Jim, you may have missed it in my original post, there is no anti virus software on either machine.I determine it not updating by multiple methods, mainly that i no longer get the info bar across the top of the screen telling me ASE as updated the weather, that the weather dosent represent what ase is displaying on that PC with what fsx as, so winds wont be same at airfield, cloud, temp, etc...if I click on refreshh AI i dont get the reload of FSX etc. ASE is still updating its weather on the ASE PC but what it as isnt being sent to FSX, basically whatever weather it last sent before stopped updating is the weather that remains in FSX, I have used both standard and DWC modes, and in fact if i then try and send user defined weather that wont change FSX either. May 16, 201115 yr Hi,Is anything else using the same port as you have ASE set up to use through SimConnect?
May 16, 201115 yr Author Hi,Is anything else using the same port as you have ASE set up to use through SimConnect?not sure...running on network at time is widefs, topcat(that uses fspuic and widefs i think) AES remote, SIOC opencockpits connects to lekseecon to run leveld 767 but sure i had this when not using that. FSBuildThats it, thing is none of those softwares are constantly connecting over network apart from maybe AES remote, topcat etc only do when I tell them to(i.e to load fuel etc) and I use them all multiple times on the ground and no issues occur with weather updates, weather generally just stops when either enroute, or if ive just left fsx running when on ground for some time. What doesnt make sense is that even if these items were conflicting, then surely closing all of them down, exiting FSX and ASE then reloading ASE and FSX would cure the problem, yet it doesnt, only way to get ASE to work again is a complete reboot of FSX PC, its almost as if AES as done something that as resulted in a network block of ASE or failure of Simconnect that only a full reboot will cure. Also it generally only happens after some time, not within 5 mins say, like as if an overload occurs eventually after so many updates from ASE. Regards James Carr
May 17, 201115 yr Hi,Get this to happen again and then close down ASE and post the ASE_Log.txt file from that flight.
