Nvidia Surround mode and additional screens

Featured Replies

Just a few hints if anyone else wants to use FSX in Nvidia surround mode with additional screens...I used to run Eyefinity (3 screens) using a 5870 with an additional cheap graphics card to run a couple of small touchscreens on the same computer. This worked well but when Nvidia announced the surround mode I wanted to try that. I could however never get my touchscreens to work when Surround mode was active. At that time I was using the very first release of the surround-enabled driver so I'm not sure it was even supposed to be possible. So I gave up.It is now supported however, but you need an additional graphics card for the "Accessory displays" as explained at http://www.nvidia.co...technology.htmlSo I decided to try again. Connected everyting, activated all five screens using extended desktop.. no problems. Activated surround mode and added the touchscreens as extended desktop.. no problem.Let FSX build a new config, loaded a flight... and all monitors went crazy when trying to get into fullscreen mode. They all ended up blinking and making strange noices.I tried pretty much everything I could think of to solve this but I was about to give up once again. Then I remembered... I'm using the "Antilag" tool to limit the FPS externally and if you use that tool you know it has some issues with entering/leaving fullscreen mode. So I removed it and now everything works perfectly and performance is excellent. I'm using two GTX580 for the main 3 screens and a cheap card for the touchscreens. Obviously I'll have to go back to using FPS limiter v0.2 but I can live with that. If anyone has this kind of setup working with Antilag I'm very interested in hearing about it.
