I have a weather question

Hi; I have a weather related question for someone familiar with the way FSX is programmed?Example given;If you set up FSX for building storms, then start a flight on a ramp where lightning and storm clouds are showing off in the distance say visually at about 10 miles away from your position on the ramp, is there actually a storm at that location that can be flown into with storm effects present as you arrive there or is that visual you see sitting on the ramp before you take off just a visual effect and not an actual programmed storm cell?Many thanks,Dudley Henriques
