Help for Fly! Legacy

Featured Replies

Hello everyone, currently, the Fly.Simvol team is working on the development of Fly! Legacy, the opensource and 100% free flight simulator.http://fly.simvol.org/indexus.php Several days ago, the developers have established a list of important points to be implemented in priority in order to improve significally the quality of our simulator. As the time of development is relatively long, we would like to appeal the flight simulation community to boost the development by finding one or several persons who would agree to help us on the following points:A) Adding of new motorizations (turboprop, jet engine)Knowledge of the computing modelization of these type of engines. Extraction from JSBSIM the modules which correponds and make the adaptation to Legacy. Adding of one module per type of motorization, integration to the aircraft model. Complete test with an aircraft of this type.B Adaptation of the existing aircraftVery few specific knowledge. Study the way the aircraft are setup and do the same to adapt the existing aircraft of the same type. Several weeks of study from the existing part. Same type of skills which was necessary to create an aircraft under Fly! II (the simulator from Terminal Reality).C) Study and development of a brand new cloud systemGood knowledge of the different techniques of modelization for this type of object. Choice and justification of one of these techniques.Adding of new modules and integration in the current weather system. Complete tests of all these features.D) Adaptation to other types of ground (snow, water)Modify the behavior of the aircraft in case of contact with these type of ground: spray of water, for example, sliding on the snow... Support of seaplane and equipped with landing ski.Complete tests with an aircraft equipped and the corresponding ground. Knowledge of physics (friction...) with use of OPAL-ODE.It is important to note that, no matter the issue, the following points are important:A) You will have to write a documentation (concepts and methods) before starting the realisation in order to have a validation from usB The performance is the most important aspect. None of these issues must exhaust the systemC) The API to be used will be OpenGL 4.0 and aboveIn addition of these points, we are looking for experts in 3D and preferably, who has good skills of Photoshop in order to work on one (or several) of the following points:_ creation of 3D generic objects in relation with aeronautics and flight simulation in general (buildings, hangars, lights, static plane on the ground, elements of nature)_ creation of the 3D aircraft model (exterior)_ creation of the interior elements of the aircraft (mainly the gauges and the radios)_ assembling and correction of textures for the creation of sceneries and the formation of a pack of generic texturesThank you for your collaboration.
