Unrealistic winds + gust speed...

Featured Replies

Hi,Am occasionally having problems with what I think is excessive turbulence / unrealistic wind in otherwise relatively calm conditions using Fs9 real weather. A while ago I believe I fixed this when in static mode by editing the weather settings manually and matching up the wind speed with the gust speed so it was wind 15kt, gust 15kt rather than default wind 15kt gust 0kt which seemed to be always causing the problem. Anyone ever experience a similar kind of thing / use a similar 'fix' and is there much I can do to fix this globally (would consider addon also but computer isn't too fast...)Any help appreciated.Thanks,P.

Not sure if this will help what you are talking about; but, in my FS9.cfg I have the following mod: {Weather} ... TurbulenceScale=0.250000 ...Which reduces the severity of turb. You can experiment with the valuse, of course.FSUIPC has a setting(s) that may help too.HTH,

Thanks, will keep flying some more and maybe try tweaking that. Yesterday was trying to fly near Seattle using real weather with few clouds at about 15000ft I guess, light winds about 10kts and a layer of heavy turbulence was throwing me around from ground to 1500feet. Although I have no real flying experience (except as a passenger) it didn't seem realistic to have heavy turbulence in these conditions (although gust speed was 0)...Thanks for the help though,P.
