FS2004 does not start

First I apologize for my miserable english.My problem:I've installed 4 days ago Windows XP SP1 and PRE SP2 (including all MS updates until now)I tyed to install FS2004 on my pc today. After the installation I want to start the game but nothing is passed.At least i must shutdown the fs2004 with the taskmanager.I've installed the fs2004 7 times today with no results. Ive changed all directorys and so forth but is not work :(can someone help me

See what happens if you end all background programs and services (except MS Services) through MSCONFIG. Note that this is for the US Version. If you have any other version it may be slightly different.1) Start2) Run3) MSCONFIG4) In the GENERAL Tab, uncheck LOAD STARTUP ITEMS.5) In the SERVICES Tab, check HIDE MICROSOFT SERVICES.6) In the SERVICES Tab still, click DISABLE ALL.7) Click Apply.8) Click CLOSE.9) Click RESTART.This is doing a clean boot. i found the problem.The directplay files in ditectx was damaged.A new installation of directx 9 erase my problem :Dthx for your help steve!!!SvS
