FS2004 AI -- a grand ol' time

Featured Replies

Since I replaced my default jets (the Boeings, the DASH propjet, and the MD-83) with PAI models, flying with AI around has been a blast. I spent almost ten hours in a session with FS2004 yesterday, and finally ended it with a 2hr. flight in HJG/FFX's 990 from Spain to EHAM... What a thrill it was to be on my descent into EHAM, and vectored between AI cruising at a 90 degree angle to my flight path, watching their contrails as two jets crossed my view seconds apart... There's a nice trick BTW which often goes overlooked... If you switch to spot view and press Ctrl/W, you can cycle through spot views of all of the AI in your area... In one instance, I cycled to an MD-83 that was cruising about 15NM west of my position... In the distance, I could see the contrail of my own aircraft as I cruised at FL350...I haven't been flying jets in MSFS lately as I felt something just seemed to be "missing"... A session like yesterday's with a great aircraft like HJG's 990 sure goes a long way towards making the jets exciting again..-John
