January 1, 200422 yr Happy New Year EveryoneHad an interesting flight today that was totally uneventful until I met with a suicidal cessna pilot. I just had to share this with you good folks. I wonder if he messed his pants? For the record I was on course on a flightplan into Phoenix. Aren't they suppose to try and avoid you? ATC advised we were at the same altitude.Don
January 2, 200422 yr DonGreat pics!! I'm still waiting for that to happen in my FS....has anyone actually had a mid air collision that wasn't arranged? IsmetM
January 2, 200422 yr I had one out of Anchorage flying a 747. Took off and was ascending at about 1800fpm, settling in and enjoying the encredible scenery (have fs genesis mesh for alaska) and hit a 737 head on that was descending, I guess into Anchorage. Happened so fast I wasn't sure what it was at first. Maybe I just couldn't believe it. It was a shock. Don't know what the odds of a headon collision are, but they're low...billg
January 2, 200422 yr I've had an unarranged mid-air collision with a Cessna Caravan while flying the King Air!James
January 2, 200422 yr I had a mid-air while flying a DC-3 in Denver International. It was IFR weather and I had not filed an IFR flight plan. I didn't radio asking for permission to land because I knew I would be refused by ATC because I'd not filed an IFR flight plan. (This has happened before.) I was making and ILS approach was everything was going well until I collided with some sort of; I'd guess, a heavy.I don't have a clue as to what type of aircraft it was that I hit because it was pretty much zero visibility.Regards,DonaldS
January 2, 200422 yr Very interesting. Perhaps mid air collisions in FS are more common than I suspected. I guess it's partly to do with how many AI aircraft you have flying around. I like real world airlines AI,(no default) and lots of GA aircraft as well...in fact I have as many AI as my humble system can manage....still no collisions but I wait in anticipation...thanks for the feedback guys!
