January 2, 200422 yr Looks good to me. You will not be able to max out all your settings, but you will be able to adjust things as you go along.Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
January 2, 200422 yr Author FS2004 may work, it may not. It does seem that the better the machine, the more likely it is that it'll work, but even the highest powered equipment may still have occasional "Crash To Desktop" issues. If you do find that FS2004 frequently crashes, a few things that can help are:Turn AGP down from 8x to 4xAlways fly in summer - winter textures seem to be the most common cause of the CTD problem.Install add-ons one at a time, and be sure it's stable with tht add-on before ading another. Meditate. If you are plagued with lots of CTDs you have to just learn to live with it as MS aren't even guessing when they may issue a patch.Richard
January 2, 200422 yr turning AGP8x to 4x i lost fps??and don't have any date to release this patch of microsoft to solve this problem ?
January 2, 200422 yr Slash,There are many users every day flying WITHOUT CTDs. If you are interested in flying then go for it!! Don't worry about changing your system settings. And don't wait for a patch, because it may come in the form of FS2006!Hope this helps,JimActiveSky Support
January 2, 200422 yr but i need to change, look in my current:Celeron 1GHZ256mb DDR133GeForce 2 MX400 64mb PCIHD 20gb!!tha is sux this machine :(
January 2, 200422 yr The computer specs you are asking about will run FS2004 just fine. I have a similar system and have no problems at all running the sim. This is my computer to compare to the one you are asking about.AMD XP2500+512MB PC3200 ASUS A7N8XATI Radeon 9600 (non Pro) 128MBHope this helps.
January 2, 200422 yr Author Slash:>but i need to change, look in my current:>>Celeron 1GHZ>256mb DDR133>GeForce 2 MX400 64mb PCI>HD 20gb!!>>tha is sux this machine Those specs are a little low for FS2004, the ones you posted in your first message are more likely to be OK. As someone else posted, many people fly FS2004 - even on lower powered machines - with no CTD's. Unfortunately, there are also many people who simply can't get it to run reliably, even on more highly powered machines. As far as it goes, unfortunately, is "You pays yer' money and you takes yer' chances". *Odds are* that with the higher specs, it will work. If it doesn't though, you may or may not be able to use one or more of the patches / fixes that have been discussed in various threads on here to get it to work better.I was at Best Buy yesterday, and there was a very agitated man arguing with the store manager, demanding a refund on a copy of MS2004 he'd gotten as a Xmas present. He couldn't get it to run more than ten minutes at a time without crashing. Best Buy were being very firm of sticking to their "no refunds on software" policy though, so he's probably out of luck. (Hardly surprising though - this is the same company that prosecutes people they catch doing price comparisons in their store ! )Richard
January 2, 200422 yr this machine its i have now, the machine i posted in first post is the machine i buy and it's come to me 8 january 2004, 6 days remaining for me use this new machine :)and too i have FS2004, but here tham aximun FPS i get is 14fps with all fixes and all minimal with this currently machine i have.
January 2, 200422 yr Author Getting 14fps with a 1Ghz machine with only 256MB RAM and a 64MB PCI video card isn't bad for FS2004. Richard
