Loss of FPS in FS2002/Gain in FS2004 after video card update.

Today I swapped out my G4TI4400 for a ATI 9700Pro. I did an uninstall of the old Nvidia drivers and installed the new CAT3.9 with no problems. I set up the display properties and I was off to test flight sim 02 and 04. First I fired up 2004 and the first thing that hit me was no more blurries and great framerates. The scenery was incredible. I flew around for a bit using my worst FPS aircraft and scenery and I maintained a nice smooth rate throughout the flight. This was great, now for FS2002. I used the same planes, scenery and weather and I noticed I lost quite of bit of FPS. Before the card swap, FS2002 was my smoothest sim installed. Am I missing something here?I'm currently running a AMD XP2700 @ 2.3Ghz (XP3300/400FSB)

I rebuilt the FS2002.cfg so it seem to help a little. I also noticed that the red FPS text at the top of the screen in FS2002 is kind of blurry but it's nice and crisp in FS2004. Is there a fix for this?
