August 26, 201114 yr Fellow pilots It has been asked before but no useful answers where given. In this video ( ) it is clearly visible that after touching the speed and thrust information is retained. However with the NGX (in my case) the following happens, On the ground: all information is deleted After lift off: all information comes back At approximately 1000ft: all data is gone again. I have read somewhere that in the real aircraft a point is entered in the legs page where the aircraft never comes (i.e. 15NM final) but this doesn't work either. What is the correct procedure or is it a bug? Regards,Frahi Jaat
August 26, 201114 yr This airplane can fly perfectly with nothing in the CDU, and it's great practice. You can fly 100% raw data and no flight director. Calculate speeds on paper and use manual N1 references (there's a knob for that). I guess that's what they do on the base checks when finishing the type rating. Omar Josef 737/757/767
August 26, 201114 yr Author Thanks for the answer, I know this can all be done on raw data however i wonder how to do it using the FMC.What i mean is that in the real aircraft all this is possible so why not in the NGX? Regards Frahi Jaat
August 27, 201114 yr Any type rated pilot here that can confirm that this is possible on the real aircraft? Arie de Moor
