August 28, 201114 yr Hello,Since I'm using the NGX, I'm always using a small program called 737NG fuel planner to plan fuel. Unfortunately it's always calculating in LBS, and as I'm dutch, I prefer using KGS.What I'm always curious about, how do real pilots calculate fuel? There must be some formulas? And how do you guys plan fuel?I partly know how to do it. You use ZFW, cruising altitude, trip distance. And in the end you add, minimum landing fuel, holding fuel, alternate fuel, taxi fuel, etc. Thanks in advance, Arjen Vandervelde
August 28, 201114 yr The fuel loads and payload are loaded into a program which uses data provided by Boeing I believe to calculate fuel loads. This is actually generally done by dispatch and not pilots. It is then printed out and given to the pilots in addition to the paper flight plan. Sebastian Pramanick
