Running windows XP , came on new Dell and can't find the version of Direct X. How do you find it. Video card ATI Radeon 9800 XT.Thanks in advance.Chuck

run dxsetup.exe - I think v 8.0 ships with XP.

If the system came preinstalled and all, it might have 9.0, but XP after doing a fresh install, has 8.1

Chuck,To find out which version of DirectX, go to start/run then type dxdiagThat will give you all the info on Direct X

Why bother, just run the Windows update.. And you will have the latest one regardless. But, if you don't want to update I guess its your own choice.
