January 15, 200422 yr First off, here are my specs:AMD Athlon 64 3200+ CPUAsus K8V Deluxe mobo1 gig Corsair 3200 DDR RAMRadeon 9800 Pro (Omega with Cat 3.10 drivers)Win 2kDirectX 9.0bHere's my problemPreviously, I set anti-aliasing in FS9 and left it as application preference in the vid card settings. However, i still had some jaggies, so i decided to set the AA and AF in the card. I set 8x AA and 16 AF in the Direct3D box checked quality. Now, however, when I'm in FS9 (I play in windowed mode), whenever i right click to change views or change something in squawkbox, it takes longer for the menu to display after i select an option. It's almost like a lag where the blue highlight sticks around after i select. The game runs find, but trying to play in sqwkbox is a hastle. WHat am i doing wrong? Also, my res is at 1280 x 1024 x 32 on the comp and 1024 x 760 x 32 in the sim, refresh rate at 60Hz.
January 15, 200422 yr Hi,I cant really help with your problem as my system is a totally different spec to yours but I am interested to know how your PC peforms running FS9? I am obviously referring to frame rates in dense scenery using high-spec panels such as the PMDG 737 NG, most importantly if you use a weather add on how does it cope with heavy clouds?? The reason I ask is that yours is a very similar spec to the Alienware system that I am present drooling over! Please let me know.
January 15, 200422 yr I am very satisfied with the system (except for the current problem of course which i hopt to get ironed out). I built the system myself and love it. I have FPS locked at 35 and get that almost constantly (all the time in the air) with the EagleSoft Beechjet, AS2004, VATSIM. I highly recommend the system.Any ideas about my problem?
January 15, 200422 yr I am really not sure, all I would say is that in my experience (Nvidia cards mainly) Omega Drivers can cause all sorts of anomalies and the performance gains aren't that remarkeable! With a system like yours your surely don't need performance enhancing tweaked drivers do you? Personally I would stick with the official drivers and see if the problem clearsSorry I can be no more help.
