FSXPilot Update 1.23 ok but 1.24 bad

hi, started to get back into FSX after a 2 year break, however in the past i used a program called Fsxpilot (http://h568612.serverkompetenz.net:8080/FSPilot/content/e58/e387/index_eng.html) but for some reason version 1.24 will not run no matter what i do, i have tried several operating systems, and 3 different computers, same problem every time, Dependency walker says

i have tried messing about with the manifest file, even used "XN Resource Editor" i have emailed the company twice now, no reply, and there forum is not accepting new posts, nor have been for some time now, i have been looking for an alternative (free) that does a similar function, i have found that only on large planes does the AP have similar abilities, but i never did grasp the basics before, and i am a newb, hence why i wish to find a good Autopilot function to help take most of the workload of me...... i have googled around, but it would seem that FSXPilot is not that popular. the only autopilot i found was this one, "Meggitt/S-TEC Avionics Magic® 2100 Autopilot" but the readme is not that good, i don't know how to get it into the game (connect it to planes). a friend of mine said that either the executable has been corrupted some how, or it has been compiled with debug dependencies. (but i know that i have used this version before 2 years ago, i am 100% sure that it was ok then, i believe that it wants something from the system which no longer is compatible, i'm thinking vc++ 2005 is to blame.) any help on this matter would be great. my aim is to get an autopilot that gives me the same functionality as FSXPilot on small planes. (large planes have this already, but i am a newb, small planes are already intimidating enough) thanks. (oh i have tried installing countless of versions of VC++ 2005 /sp1 to the point of breaking operating systems, and again version 1.23 works just fine, as does all the others, it's only version 1.24 that doesn't work, and unfortunately there a sound fix in 1.24 that i need)
