January 18, 200422 yr I was wondering if the mips should be removed from my AI aircrafts? Does it make any difference? Should they be saved as DXT3, DXT1 or maybe extended 32bit 888-8 bmp's?ThanksMikkel
January 18, 200422 yr i personally take mips off and use dxt 3 i find they make my video card studder and act like it is doing more with out mips everything runs smooth i used a ati 9700 proshane
January 18, 200422 yr Only you can tell. As already mentioned, some system runs better without mip maps. Mine looks a lot better with mipmaps (and that is an ATI 9800Pro), but comes down to more than the card (driver settings, resolution etc).If yu use reflection you have to use either DXT3 or 32 bit (of the formats you mentioned). 32 bit will look marginally better if you fly with light traffic, but in heavy traffic the reduced memory load of DXT3 is probably preferable.
