January 19, 200422 yr hi all, i have been looking for a british airways re-paint for the default 747. i couldnt find one and so i downloaded the opensky package, but then i got to thinking, does it fly well? i mean its not as if im used to the default 747 but i would like as realistic handling as possible for obvious reasons. has anyone any experience with this? cheers for the help,James
January 19, 200422 yr Hi James,There is a BA repaint for the default 747 in the Avsim library. I just went to http://library.avsim.net/extsearch.php and then putdefault British 747in the 'Name and/or Description' field and then clicked the Search button. It's under FS2002 repaints but I am pretty sure it will work just the same in FS2004 (someone correct me if I'm wrong). Just in case... here's the full link.http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...hor=&CatID=RootIf you are wanting the best 747 available at this time imho, which is payware, then I sugest the '747-200 Ready For Pushback' from www.panelshop.com You also have to pay for "extra" liveries for this plane(they come in 4-packs for about $10 each), although there have been some freeware repaints contributed by customers of this plane. The payware liveries, of which I have several of the packages, are really excellent though and I have the one that contains BA. I don't know whether there's been a freeware BA livery made for it or not.Lastly, you might want to just use that default 747 repaint and wait for a few months(or it may be several months) for a 747 that will probably be even better than the 747 RFP from panelshop, which will be the 747 being made by PMDG, www.precisionmanuals.com PMDG has some preview screenshots of their upcoming B1900, but not of the 747 yet.Hope that helps!JimEDIT - If you need help on getting the BA texture for the default 747 installed properly just let me know and I'll come back here and explain.
January 19, 200422 yr indeed it does, thanks a lot Jim, i'll keep with the default repaint then change when the new one comes out, hopefully i will be good enough to appreciate it by then!thanks again,James
