Stretching main panel across two monitors

I have a couple of 19 inch monitors of which would be nice to stretch the main panel across both. But when I do everything gets "squished", even when I resize it to the full size of the monitor. Yet I have seen snapshots of other users doing this where the proportions are correct. Any ideas?

You need a taller monitor I'm sorry I just had to say that. Actually i have been looking into that myself. There is an article over at Flightsim.com that has a nice layout of that with article.
