January 29, 200422 yr i just got my new saitex x45 stick and throttle an i'm so amazed. Now that my old logitech attack 2 is relegated to my attic i actually feel for the first time in flight sim the feeling that i'm actualy at the controls of a plane.Would highly recomend this stick to anyone on a budget as you can pick them up pretty cheap some places. I cant even imagine how good it is for all you lucky people who have a CH yoke, Throttle and rudder pedal setup!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/60181.jpg
January 29, 200422 yr I've been happy with my X45 for more than 1.5 years now. I'm not even sure I would trade it for a CH yoke and pedals ;)VOlker :]
January 29, 200422 yr I've had mine for a few years now, and really like it. I clipped a bit off the bottom spring to make it a bit lighter on pull; and use the upper left hat switch for trim, while others might prefer the rotory dials. Bottom hat switch is for view changing. Using the Saitek X-45 along with my old analog Thrustmaster Elite rudder pedals, which just seem to feel about right.L.Adamson
January 29, 200422 yr the only thing i'm a bit disapointed with is the throttle moving around but i'll easily build a board for it to go on.Do either of you know how to get the red button under the saftey latch to work as an autopilot disconnect switch, i tried assining it but it had no effect. Also the brakes dont stay applied when i hold the button down?thanks.
January 29, 200422 yr I use the "red button" for AP disconnect as well, but have not experienced any problems assigning it. The same goes for the brakes. Sorry ;)VOlker :]
January 29, 200422 yr ive used the x45 for some time, too, but as a helicopter cyclic and collective.I built an L-shaped board that goes under my seat cushion, giving me a small shelf on the left for the throttle and one in front of my seat for the stick. That way, the cyclic and collective are in their proper positions.works great..Johnnewburgh
January 29, 200422 yr I love my X45, just got it 2 weeks ago. I can't believe how I even managed with that old Logitech Wingman stick for all those years after using the X45 :). I have almost been flying Bill Lyons' Ryan STA exclusively after getting the X45, I actually feel like I am piloting it for real :). Well, just about any of his aircraft have the same feeling.Only thing I really don't like about the X45 is that the buttons are lighted. Its a cool feature, but it needs an off switch :-lol. Its just too hard to unplug the joystick when i'm not using it since I have no front USB ports.
