A380 problem

Featured Replies

I have corresponded with wilco and they asked me to send a desktop shot of my instrument panel. But following their advice it did not help, my problem is as follows: I bought the FX A380 over a year ago. A problem developed so I bought it again from wilco and reinstalled, as I thought the problem would have been fixed in the new release. However it turned out to be the same, so paid twice for the same product and the same problem. My problem is only with the FX version, the 2004 one works perfectly. But on the FX one, both my altitude and my vertical indicators do not light up and it is only by clicking with the right mouse button that I get a response from the altitude switch. Wilco told me something about that I was not using the correct procedure, however my son who lives in Melbourne was a pilot for many years and he bought the same item in Australia and has the same problems. It was him who told me to right click on the unlit altitude switch to get it to respond. The next problem is that I cannot regulate my ascent or descent, as that switch also never comes on. As a result my angle of attack is too steep, it goes up to 56 instead of the normal 18 and I stall as my airspeed just goes down. I have to manually put the nose down to keep my airspeed from going off the board, and many times on the final vector the altitude switch does not respond at all and the plane just over-flies the airport. I have written about my problem many times on some other forums but have never had anybody give me any advice as to how to fix this, or what I am not doing correctly. I did ask a gentleman at wilco why the 2004 version works perfectly but not the FX version, he said the FX version was more complicated, I would have thought in that case first fix the bugs THEN release it. I would very much appreciate some help with the above. I also bought the A380 from Perfect flight that does not have an FMC but i installed the JSG FMC and that works fine, even if it is a very simple one, but at least it works. The other problem is the sound of the engines: no matter if I even tick off the sound of the engines and/or turn my volume down, they are still overpowering the ATC sound (which I have on full). Surely the flight-deck is way forward and the engines noise goes backwards! I wonder if anybody else has the above problems. Thank you, Joseph Theeboom.
