November 14, 201114 yr Hi,Since I've had my new system (except new GPU, upgrading soon...) for over 1 month now, there is one problem I'm experiencing on my system which I didn't have on my old system. The problem is when I watch an instant replay in Options -> Instant Replay... or in FSRecorder, after watching it for a second or third time, the screen simply turns black. I can still hear sounds, and when I increase engine power it all responds normally. The sim just continues normally, but only the screen is black. When I press Alt+Enter to go to windowed mode, still the screen is black. Also when I press Alt+Enter again to go back to full screen, the screen stays black. When I press the X in the right hand corner of the window, the exit prompt appears normally and I can just click Yes or No. The sim doesn't crash or freeze either. The screen simply turns black. I have this problem with all aircraft. I had this problem eventually using the FSX.cfg from my old system, so I created a new one specific to my new system at www.venetubo.com/fsx.html and still having the same problem. One thing I'm not sure about when creating my FSX.cfg is whether to choose Normal or Conservative when it's asking for Optimization Preferences. What's the difference between Normal and Conservative? Also I can succesfully complete a flight without any crashes or freezes. And yes, I do have the UiAutomationCore.dll in my FSX root folder. FSX is running as administrator either. No antivirus programs running. And no I do not have any unusual addons installed. All I have is 4 PMDG aircraft, Carenado, Flight One, Aerosoft sceneries, FSDreamteam, and ENB series (which looks a little suspicious). That's about it.If anyone knows the solution to my problem, you're welcome to tell me!This is the only problem I'm having with FSX, and the rest is working just fine. Thanks! Arjen Vandervelde
December 26, 201114 yr Commercial Member Sir sir has been fixed! If you open your fsx.cfg file using notepad (type "notepad.exe %appdata%microsoftfsxfsx.cfg" without quotes in your start search bar"), under the [GRAPHICS] section, add "HIGHMEMFIX=1" without quotes. Save it, restart FSX and you should no longer experience this, or at least see a great decrease in the frequency. Collin Biedenkapp Chief Executive Officer TFDi Design (Invernyx) | Website
