Strange Error message R6025(with pix)

Featured Replies

Greetings,I have been getting this msg for about a week now.It occurs after about 10 to 20 minutes flying, theSim locks up and the msg appears. Does not update FS9.cfg.Only the Sim crashes, not Win98se, and I can start theSim right back up again...Happens when flying from mainland airports, but NOTwhen flying from island of Hawaii....here it is:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/61385.jpgHave had FS2002 and FS2004 running well for a long time, until now...Google search yields MS info screens dealingwith other specific MS programs, but not FS2004....Any ideas, please?JR

What have you changed in the past week, starting from the earliest point working forward? This error is referenced in quite a few sites, for everything from MS Office to Internet connections. I saw one example where NetZero customers have to disconnect from the Internet to avoid this error in one application.Likely you have done something, intentionally or unintentionally (such as via a Spyware download or malicious website) which has caused this problem. FS9 uses the VC++ runtimes, so anything and everything that shares those runtimes may be the cause. One way I track such problems down for Win98 users is to tell them to do a search on their hard drive of all files (including hidden and system) changed since the approx. date the trouble appeared. Sometimes that helps track down issues like these... I suspect you have something new running in the background--perhaps even a virus, that could be causing the problem. The only other possibility is a gauge that you may have installed or some other MSFS addon that's coded as a .dll (which is essentially what a guage is)....-John

Thanks, JohnI had thought maybe it was a scenery related problem, since when I fly from Hawaii it does not happen...The only scenery d/l I have is the MAAM Reading scenery, which I have been using trouble-free since Christmas..I have run AdAware6 and found nothing..Now that I have a little more time, I will check throughrecent d/l's as you suggest, and report back to this thread. Thanks again!JR

This seems to be a virus. Does this happen with Win XP does anyone know? I have WinXP and had no trouble but I will keep a look out for this. I haven't seen anything like this but it sure doesn't seem like an error from scenery. Errors from scenery are usually CTDs or an error message as the following:fs9.exe caused a general protection fault in x88893c58bb or something like that with the wonderful ms send error message "were sorry for the Inconvience etc. etc.I checked with the recent virus though and it seem to cause low damage according to Symantec meaning it shouldn't cause programs and os's to crash but a virus is a virus and I guess you just don't know what it is suppose to do until it is to late. I hope there is some info about this runtime error so you can get up flying again.regards,Kurt.
