February 7, 200422 yr I know I've seen how to do this explained in a FAQ somewhere, but I've just spent an hour searching for information on this, and give up.I want to remove aircraft -- mostly AI, but also some default -- that I never fly from the aircraft selection menu. Isn't there someway to edit the aircraft.cfg file for this?-Basil
February 7, 200422 yr Well first of all you have to download this program called AirEd:http://library.avsim.net/esearch.php?DLID=...hor=&CatID=RootDont worry that its FS98 util, it will work on FS2002 and FS9 as well. You have to edit a line inside the .air files of each aircraft to make it not appear in the AC selection screen.Once you get an .air file opend look for the line in there that says "Aircraft Type=0" You have to change the 0 to a 2 so it reads "..Type=2". If you want to revert back to having it show up, just change it back to a 0 (zero) and save.Thats it! Save it and ur plane wont show up on selection screen but in case of AI it WILL show up inside the game :)It will severely speed up load time as well ;)P.S. If you want to edit alot of .air files and often, I found it useful to have aired open up when i double click on any .air file using the "open with" function in Windows..
