Could someone point me to where to find information and description of the different systems used for runway lights (such as ALSF-1 and 2, CALVERT, etc.)Related to this, what are the requirements of a "Category 3" (CAT III) ILS/DME system in a runway??Thanks in advanceJoaquin

Joaquin,Check here for diagrams and descriptions of the various airport lighting systems:http://www2.faa.gov/aim/As far as CAT III stuff goes, there are a lot airport, aircraft, and aircrew requirements for conducting CAT III (and CAT II) operations.At a minimum, though, the runway will have precision markings, HIRL/CL/TDZL lighting, an ALSF-II, an ILS, a protected ILS Critical Area, and a few other things. I'm fairly certain that there must be an Inner Marker, though I'd have to check. A lot of OM's and MM's around the US have been permanently decomissioned, and in most cases they are not required.Hope that helps...Best Regards,NickBlue Ridge Dx
