Troubles with theTu-154 B2

Featured Replies

Greetings!Spurred on by Steve Cartwright's recent Bear's Cave review, I downloaded the Tu-154 today and copied it into FS9. The plane is a visual treat, but I'm encountering a problem: whenever I try to load it, I get a CTD. Casting about for a solution to this behavior, I renamed the panel folder and substituted another one (777 default). The plane loads fine that way, but I don't get to utilize and explore that awesome Tu-154 panel. The VC for it shows up, but it's not populated by any gauges, of course.I'm hoping that someone with recent experience with this plane can clear up my difficulties. I don't know anything about how to determine which gauge might be the trouble-maker, but I'm wondering if something went awry when I copied the files into FS9. The Gauges folder that comes with the plane has an "Add-on" subfolder within it and then the rest of the gauges. Does that "Add-on" folder stay intact within the FS9 Gauges folder or are the seven gauges it contains meant to be copied in (dispersed) with the other FS9 gauges? In addition, the plane package contains an extra Sound folder holding two subfolders (pilot and co-pilot call-outs). Where do these folders go?Thanks for any help.

Hi Rainer, could be a missing entry in your fs9.cfg, which causes some trouble during loading of certain gauges. Create a section OLDMODULES in your fs9.cfg and then fssound.dll=1 below that.Mike
